College of Public Health and Health Professions
UPTurn
A wellness initiative for PHHP students
Who we are
At PHHP UPTurn, our program’s mission is to promote the health and wellness of PHHP students. We strive to support students in being your healthiest selves, so you can better manage academic, social, emotional and health-related stress and adjust to life’s demands and difficulties in a healthy and adaptive way.
Undergraduate students, master’s students, PhD students, and professional program students in the College of Public Health and Health Professions are eligible for this no-cost program.
What we do
The UPTurn program offers students a 45-minute consultative visit with a program advisor. At this visit, our advisors will curate an individualized plan for obtaining support and resources based upon the students’ concerns, stresses and goals.
The program team is led by Dr. Deidre Pereira, an associate professor and associate chair in the department of clinical and health psychology. The program has two advisors: Kelsey Bacharz, M.A. and Brittany Rohl, M.S., both of whom are doctoral students in the department of clinical and health psychology.

Our program aims to support and enhance the wellness of students in the College of Public Health and Health Professions.
The goal of our program is to create pathways to support the overall wellness of PHHP students. Our advisors will collaborate with you to connect you to UF and community services and resources to address concerns that may be affecting your academic performance and overall wellness.
Make an appointment
Students interested in meeting with an UPTurn advisor may request an appointment. Appointments are 45 minutes in length and can be conducted by Microsoft Teams, in person at the Health Professions, Nursing, and Pharmacy (HPNP) Complex in room G-205 or by phone.
Once you complete this form, you will receive information about your assigned advisor and be able to schedule an appointment.
